SUMMARY:27TH WITS BIENNIAL VIRTUAL SURGICAL SYMPOSIUM
DESCRIPTION:After consideration and examination of the evidence as we currently understand it\, the Wits Department of Surgery\nhas decided that the Biennial will be delivered online\, as a Virtual Congress from 3-5 July 2020.\nWe believe that this will become part of the “new normal” in our immediate future and want to be part of the development\nof this process\, as the oldest Departmental based Surgical meeting in South Africa. This meeting is about delivering the\nprogram online\, while preserving the interaction in real time with the speakers. Our decision to continue in July\, albeit on\na different platform\, is because we want to continue with our endeavour to share knowledge\, share education\, expertise\nand experiences in Surgery\, now more than ever.\nWe have lowered the registration rates very substantially for all attendees\, and this would not be possible at all\, without\nthe support and commitment from our Trade Partners which we will acknowledge individually in our next update to you.\nWe look forward to this event\, and your support \nThe academic program is on the website. \nMartin Smith \nProfessor and Academic Head | Department of Surgery\nSchool of Clinical Medicine\, Faculty of Health Sciences\nUniversity of the Witwatersrand
